That’s what Angie Harmon did, having three tuxedoed gents serve as “bridesmen.” “They were her closest friends, some from as far back as high school,” says Gale Sliger, Harmon’s Dallas event planner. These days, attendants are chosen based on who offers the most support–not who looks best in pink taffeta. “Nothing’s by the book anymore,” says Beverly Hills event producer Randie Pellegrini. “Just because a friend isn’t the ‘right’ gender doesn’t mean he or she can’t play a certain role in the wedding party.”
